We are ecologists that get a kick out of biology and find that only in the light of evolution can we understand biological diversity. We are interested in a broad array of topics from community and population ecology and macroecology to life history evolution. Our unifying theme is, with both field and laboratory research, to examine mechanisms that generate and maintain diversity. In this fascinating endeavor, we find that research (science in general) is much more stimulating and satisfying when carried out in a friendly and happy working environment.
